Are they official dates for the announcements made.
Example: John Buck played the 4th of August and a press release was made that night he was put on DL.
I believe he did not go on DL until the 5th

Yeah, usually PRs are sent out ASAP, even if the transaction doesn’t occur until the next day. The thought being, at least back in the day, that the newspapers wouldn’t be reporting the information until the following day anyway. That obviously has changed in this day of the Internet and everyone trying to break stories via social media sites, which makes it that much more important that press releases make not that said player doesn’t officially go on the DL until (correct date).
